GAYA KEBAHASAAN DAN TATA TULIS PENYUSUNAN TUGAS AKHIR FTIK UIN SALATIGA

GAYA KEBAHASAAN DAN TATA TULIS  PENYUSUNAN TUGAS AKHIR FTIK UIN SALATIGA

A.       Bahasa dan Tata Kutip

1.     Bahasa

a.     Gaya penulisan.

b.     Keefektifan dan kecermatan penggunaan kalimat.

a.          kalimat tidak memiliki subyek (S) atau predikat (P), padahal sebuah kalimat sekurang-kurangnya memiliki subjek (S) dan predikat (P);

b.         kalimat mempunyai dua satuan pikiran atau lebih yang tumpang tindih, padahal seharusnya hanya memiliki satu satuan pikiran;

c.          keterangan kalimat diletakan tidak tepat;

d.         subjek didahului kata depan, sehingga bagian yang pokok di dalam kalimat itu menjadi kabur;

e.          anak kalimat tidak logis (salah nalar);

Lihat contoh berikut:

a.    Nama penulis terpadu dalam teks.

Contoh:

Mnemonic Technique in Vocabulary Mastery

 Definition and Purpose

Mnemonic techniques are memory-enhancing strategies designed to help learners remember information more effectively and efficiently, particularly when learning new vocabulary135. These techniques work by associating unfamiliar words with familiar concepts, images, or patterns, making the new information easier to recall.

Types of Mnemonic Techniques

Several mnemonic techniques are commonly used to improve vocabulary mastery, including:

  • Rhyme-Keys

  • Acronyms

  • Peg Word System

  • Loci Method

  • Keyword Method

Among these, the keyword method is widely recognized as particularly effective for vocabulary learning12.

Difference Between Validity and Reliability in Quantitative Research

Difference Between Validity and Reliability in Quantitative Research

Validity and reliability are two foundational concepts in quantitative research, each addressing different aspects of data quality:

Validity refers to the extent to which a research instrument or method accurately measures what it is intended to measure. In other words, a valid study truly reflects the concept or variable it aims to assess. For example, if a survey is designed to measure job satisfaction, validity ensures that the questions actually capture the essence of job satisfaction, not something else7.

Reliability refers to the consistency or repeatability of measurements. A reliable instrument yields the same results under consistent conditions.
If a test is administered to the same group multiple times and produces similar results each time, it is considered reliable67.

Hypothesis of the Research

In this research, the statistical hypotheses will be developed. The hypotheses will compare the performance of the experimental and control classes. The main objective is to determine whether the intervention significantly enhances writing skills.

1. Null Hypothesis (𝑯𝟎):

The null hypothesis states that there is no significant statistical difference in the writing skills for designing posters between the control and experimental classes after the intervention.
𝐻0: 𝜇1 = 𝜇2
Where 𝜇1 represents the mean of the writing score in the experimental class, and 𝜇2 represents the mean of the writing score in the control class. This hypothesis, therefore, reflects that using short animated videos does not significantly affect the students' writing skills when designing posters.

2. Alternative Hypothesis (𝐇𝟏):
Therefore, the alternative hypothesis would be that the statistical significance in the difference in the writing skills in designing posters between the control and experimental classes is significant after intervention.
𝐻1: 𝜇1 ≠ 𝜇2
This hypothesis makes it clear that with short animated videos, there is an effective improvement in students' abilities in designing posters; hence, there would be differences between the experimental and control classes.
These hypotheses will then be verified through statistical analyses, either the Independent Samples t-Test if the data is normally distributed, or the Mann-Whitney U Test in cases of no normality. The significance level will be set at 𝛼 = 0.05, which, which means that if the obtained p-value is less than 0.05, the null hypothesis will be rejected in favor of the alternative hypothesis.

Abstract

This study analyzes the language employed by Kompas, Republika, Media Indonesia, and Jawa Pos regarding the relocation of Indonesia’s capital city, focusing on attitude, graduation, and engagement. Eight online texts were analyzed using discourse analysis. This paper used systemic functional linguistics as a tool to analyze the texts. The findings revealed a predominance of positive attitude data (67.2% positive, 32.8% negative), predominantly heterogloss in engagement (91.8% heterogloss, 8.2% monogloss), and a majority of raising/sharpening graduation data (75.1% raising/sharpening, 24.9% lowering/softening). This disparity between positive and negative appraisal data signifies significant and contentious issues the government, community leaders, and the general public face concerning the capital city’s relocation. The results of news outlets analysis demonstrated how ideological orientations shape the construction of social and political values, influencing public beliefs and perceptions of the capital relocation project in Indonesia.

English Syntax Kia Hai?

1. Definition of English Syntax

Syntax is a branch of linguistics that studies the rules and principles for constructing sentences in a language. In the context of English, syntax refers to how words are arranged to form meaningful sentences according to specific grammatical rules.

In simple terms: English syntax is about sentence structure—how words combine to create phrases, clauses, and full sentences that make sense in English.

and this is the Steps of Creating Pragmatics Speech Acts analysis on Youtube short video: https://www.pakfaizal.com/2025/04/steps-of-creating-pragmatics-speech.html

the deadline of the submission  April 28th, 2025.

Submit the assignment to this submission form: https://forms.gle/FwA7Y6UVHXJyfy8LA

Steps of Creating Pragmatics Speech Acts analysis on Youtube short video

The steps:

1. Find funny video like this on youtube short: https://youtube.com/shorts/w-sf5igsmp8?si=EBWdK15WqTndPxVh

2. Find directly the transcript of Youtube video using this: https://youtubetranscript.com/

3. If  you failed  to find the transcript you may may manually Download Youtube video into MP3 file using https://youconvert.org/ and then convert the MP3 into text using https://www.zamzar.com/tools/mp3-to-text/

4. The result is like this one:

Title: Indian People Don't Do Crazy Crimes

You will never see an Indian person committing a crazy crime.

Like, when was the last time you heard of Indians robbing a bank?

First of all, Indian people are so nice and they're so sweet.

Eh, I can't see it. You know, you're gonna rob a bank.

You need authority. You need to come in their guns blazing.

I'll say it. Get your ass on the ground.

Now, I can't imagine.

Would you please take the money?

Why are you laughing?

I am talking to you.

Forget this. I'm out of here. I don't need this.

He gets in the car.

His partner's waiting for him.

Did you get the money?

They would not give me the money.

Did you show them the gun?

I showed them the gun!

We better leave. They want to call the police.

They're still laughing.

Where did you get the computer?

They thought I was tech support.

5. Then, categorize this content into searle illocutionary acts of directive, representative, verdictive/declarative, commisive and expressive:

Searle’s Illocutionary Acts consist of five primary types:

Directives – Attempts by the speaker to get the hearer to do something (e.g., requests, commands).

Representatives – Statements representing the speaker's beliefs (e.g., assertions, descriptions).

Commissives – Commit the speaker to future action (e.g., promises, threats).

Expressives – Express the speaker's psychological state or attitude.

Declaratives/Verdictives – Statements that change the world via their utterance (e.g., pronouncing someone guilty, resigning, declaring something open/closed).

6. The analysis:

1. Representatives (assertions, descriptions of belief):

- "You will never see an Indian person committing a crazy crime."

- "Like, when was the last time you heard of Indians robbing a bank?"

- "First of all, Indian people are so nice and they're so sweet."

- "I can’t see it."

- "They would not give me the money."

- "They thought I was tech support."

These are descriptive statements representing the speaker's beliefs or observations (even if exaggerated for comedic effect).

2. Directives (commands, requests):

- "Get your ass on the ground." – A mock command imitating a bank robber.

- "Would you please take the money?" – A sarcastic or humorous polite request.

- "Forget this." – An implicit self-directive or imperative.

- "I am talking to you." – Implied demand for attention.

3. Expressives (psychological states or attitudes):

- "Why are you laughing?"** – Shows confusion or frustration.

- "I don't need this." – Expresses annoyance or exasperation.

- "Eh, I can't see it." – Implicit disbelief or inability to imagine, also reflective.

 4. Commissives (commitments to future actions):

- "I'm out of here." – Expresses intent to leave, committing to an action.

5. Declaratives / Verdictives (change the state of affairs, judgment-like):

- There are no strong declaratives or verdictives in the traditional sense (like “I now pronounce…”), but one could stretch:

  - "We better leave." – Could be interpreted as a strategic decision (borderline commissive).

  - Still, this category isn’t strongly represented in this bit.

7. you may use free tools for making PPT presentation along with ON-CAM video using : https://screenpal.com/https://www.screencastify.com/ , https://www.bandicam.com/free-screen-recorder/,  https://www.loom.com/https://screenrec.com/screen-recorder/, zoom meeting recording or PowerPoint Recording using PPT Presentation and ON CAMERA.
