Masih suka pake rok mini? read this: 'It's completely inappropriate': Outrage as NYPD warns short skirts could get women RAPED

Women in one of America’s most liberal neighbourhoods have been left outraged after being told by police not to wear short skirts in case it gets them raped.
Those living in Park Slope in Brooklyn, New York, are being warned they could grant a sex attacker ‘easy access’ with their provocative clothing and that they should change.
Short skirts should not be worn and shorts that show too much leg have been deemed inappropriate by male cops who are patrolling the streets.

The ‘advice’ is being given out in response to at least 10 unsolved sexual attacks that have taken place in the area since March.
But in Park Slope, which is famous for being liberal and feminist, the campaign has provoked fury.
Jessica Silk, founder of neighbourhood watch group Safe Slope, told the Wall St Journal that such a measure was ‘completely inappropriate’.

She said: ‘There have been reports that the women attacked were all wearing skirts.
‘Unfortunately this might be a common link between the women that were attacked but the message shouldn't be that you shouldn't wear a skirt.
‘The message should be that, "Here are ways that you can protect yourself".'

One of the women who had been spoken to, who identified herself only as Lauren, told how she was three block from her home when she was stopped for wearing shorts and a T-shirt.

The 25-year-old claimed a cop asked to speak to her then did the same to two other women wearing dresses.
Lauren claimed he asked if she knew about the sex attacks and when they all replied yes he ‘pointed at my outfit and said, "Don't you think your shorts are a little short?"
‘He pointed at their dresses and said they were showing a lot of skin,’ she said.
Lauren claimed the cop said such clothes could make the rapist think he could get ‘easy access’.
The officer then said that they were ‘exactly the kind of girl this guy is targeting’.

The sex attacks have sparked a wave of fear in Park Slope with some women calling for car service just to take them a few blocks home.
It has also promoted a campaign called Brooklyn Bike Patrol, in which volunteers offer to escort women back to their houses from the subway.
‘Officers are not telling women what not to wear - there's a TV series that does that. They are simply pointing out that as part of the pattern involving one or more men that the assailant(s) have targeted women wearing skirts'
NYPD Deputy Commissioner Paul Browne
But Lauren said that the idea that she is in some way ‘asking for it’ is deeply offensive an just wrong.
She told the Wall St Journal: ‘I completely disagree. Where do you draw the line? I can't wear shorts?
'Besides the fact that I wasn't wearing anything that was inappropriate or provocative….I don't think that should be part of the problem. At all.’
